Online safety in focus for Safer Internet Day
People are being encouraged to start the chat about online safety as schools and organisations participate in Safer Internet Day today.
Leaders from business, government, education, sport and beyond have joined together the encourage parents and carers to talk with children about internet safety.
This year’s Safer Internet Day theme is Start the Chat.
Forrest MHR Nola Marino encouraged people to get involved with Safer Internet Day and embrace this year’s theme.
“I have delivered hundreds of cyber safety sessions to children and parents in the South West and this is why I particularly encourage parents, carers and teachers to access the information available on the eSafety website, where there is a myriad of free resources with practical advice about how you can help the next generation of Australians grow up in a safer online world,” Mrs Marino said.
