Photography passion leads to surprise award
Bunbury photographer Bianca Turri says community engagement is crucial to expanding her business.
Ms Turri, who claimed the Community Engagement title at this year’s South West Small Business Awards, said she was overwhelmed to be chosen as the winner.
“It was great to be able to share the award with all the people and projects that I have been involved with,” she said.
“I had quite a few passion projects that I had worked on leading up to winning the award and it was great to have those recognised.
“It was a really big surprise too, as I really didn’t expect it.”
Ms Turri said photography was a great way to represent the community and how people interact.
“I did the campaign for the ladies at Doors Wide Open and I donated my time to help them,” she said.
“The images were very powerful and graphical but they really came across as representing what they were trying to do.
“A photo really can say 1000 words and in that case it was a very powerful tool.”
Ms Turri said she was looking forward to future projects.
