Major Crash officers are investigating a double fatality that saw two drivers killed in a South West collision on Anzac Day.

About 2.35pm yesterday a Kio Rio Hatchback was driving south and a Subaru Forrester was driving north on South Western Highway when the pair collided near Knights Road, Argyle.

The driver of the Kia Rio, a 47-year-old woman, and the 23-year-old female driver of the Subaru both died from their injuries at the scene.

The passenger from the Subaru, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Local residents reported on social media that one of the vehicles was on fire at the scene.

The crash comes just one week after two South West teenage boys were killed after their car smashed into a tree near Busselton last Saturday.

Police are examining the crash scene in Argyle and are calling for witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers via 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

Dash-cam or mobile phone footage of the crash can be uploaded via here.
