Program provides opportunity to upgrade life jackets

South Western Times

There will be an opportunity for South West residents to upgrade their old life jackets on Saturday.

The Department of Transport in conjunction with the Royal Life Saving Society of Western Australia will coordinate the old-for-new lifejacket upgrade at the Bunbury Boat Ramp.

The campaign aims to promote the wearing of life jackets at all times while boating and provides an incentive for people upgrade their jackets.

Vouchers will be available for the first 50 people to exchange their old, damaged or obsolete jackets meeting the strict guidelines which will help them upgrade to a modern, inflatable alternative.

There is a limit of three vouchers per boat in the regional areas.

The exchange will operate from 9am to 11am.
