Search on for four-legged star

Emily AceSouth Western Times

Country music legend Melinda Schneider is on the search for a four-legged star to join the cast of her show Melinda Does Doris: A Tribute To Doris Day showing at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday.

The six-time CMAA Golden Guitar Award winner is inviting dogs of all breeds to “pawdition” for the role, with applicants required to be obedient and professional, as well as able to take direction and “smile” at the audience.

“I actually sing a song to the dog on stage that I wrote, called ‘Your eyes could never lie’, and it’s a really wonderful part of the show because Doris is a big animal activist,” Schneider said.

No previous stage experience is necessary, but the ability to walk on stage, jump on a chair and be sung to is essential.

Applications can be made by emailing a photo of your dog to management@melindaschneider.com with a 25-word or less explanation of why they would be suited to the position by tomorrow.

The winner will receive two complimentary tickets to the show and a packet of Schmackos.
