As the seventh season of AFLW approaches its business end, two of the South West region’s finest have continued to make an impact.

Margaret River’s Ella Roberts featured for the West Coast Eagles in their heartbreaking 4.10 (34) to 4.1 (25) loss to Geelong at Ikon Park on Saturday, where she delivered the goods up forward.

While an early goal from Roberts got the Eagles off to a fast start, the Cats locked the ball in attack and dominated everywhere but on the scoreboard, leading only by a goal by half-time.

Although Geelong broke away to take the win during the second half, Roberts put up a classy effort with 13 disposals, two marks and three tackles along with the early goal.

Bunbury’s Ella Smith was ruled out of the clash due to a foot injury prior to departing for Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Manjimup’s Dana East made a solid return from a concussion in Fremantle’s clash with Collingwood at Fremantle Oval on Sunday.

While Fremantle struggled to match Collingwood, ultimately going down 4.8 (32) to 0.3 (3), East put the pressure on within the midfield.

East finished with 11 disposals, three marks and five tackles and was the sole player to kick one of Fremantle’s three points - the other two scores being rushed behinds.
