SW groups team up to help community

Woolworths stores across the South West have pledged to support the Bunbury Soup Van by providing essential resources that will be distributed to the community’s most vulnerable.

The generous donation will see Woolworths provide the van with a series of essential hygiene packs, which contain personal care products including toothbrushes, soap and face cloths.

Woolworths group manager Tina Anandji said the donation was part of an initiative based on what the community needed most.

“We are incredibly proud to be able to do something that will make a measurable difference to the lives of many people within our local community,” Ms Anandji said.

“It’s a collaborative process between us and the Bunbury Soup Van – we discuss what’s needed most by the community and see how we can help.

“This month it’s personal hygiene products and next month we’ll be helping to provide meal solutions.”

Soup van president Denise Ladhams said the hygiene packs would make a “huge” difference.

“These donations are greatly appreciated, they make a huge difference to those who receive them,” Mrs Ladhams said.

“It’s lovely to see someone’s face light up when we are able to help them with some much-needed toiletries – those who receive them always give us lots of ‘thankyous’,” Mrs Ladhams said.

“We are looking forward to working with Woolworths...it was so reassuring to see they genuinely care.”

Participating Woolworths stores include Dalyellup, Bunbury Forum, Bunbury Plaza, Treendale and Eaton Fair.
