TAFE domestic violence forum

Emily AceSouth Western Times

A student workshop and staff professional development session at South Regional TAFE on November 28 will highlight the prevalence of domestic violence in the community and give an insight on how participants can respond.

The workshop has been organised as part the Government’s campaign, 16 Days in WA to Stop Violence Against Women, reminding all West Australians they can play a part.

Workshop participants will hear from South West Refuge chief executive Michelle Bickers and Neale Horsley from the Bunbury police.

South Regional TAFE managing director Duncan Anderson said the event was an example of empowering staff and students by raising awareness of domestic violence, giving practical advice to respond or support others affected by domestic violence.
