After having two close finishes in a row, the Souwest Jets will be looking to return from a general bye in a big way in front of a home crowd this weekend.

The Jets will be returning home to the Eaton Recreation Centre on Saturday when they host the Southside Demons during round seven of the 2022 WANL season this weekend.

It will be the Jets first game in 11 days, since falling just short of pulling off an upset over reigning premiers the West Coast Warriors last Tuesday.

The two-goal loss was the same result as the Jets previous match against Peel Lightning the weekend prior at Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre.

Head coach Karly Guadagnin said the team was “really looking forward” to returning to a home crowd this weekend in what will be a tough game.

“We love playing down there in our home crowd which is awesome,” she said.

“We’re looking forward to an opportunity against the Demons.

“We had a really good game against the Warriors during the week and we feel like we’ve got our mojo back.

“Having that strong game last Tuesday has really given us the opportunity to bounce back and allow us to play the brand of netball we want to play.

“The Demons can be quite physical and we need to be ready for that both mentally and physically.”

Saturday’s match will see the return of shooter Giselle Taylor after she was on the sidelines during the Jets last match following a bout with COVID.

“Everybody is still available at the moment aside from Brooke Repacholi so we’ll be going in with 11 players,” Karly said.

The Jets currently sit in seventh place on the ladder with a 1-5 record, while the Demons sit in fifth place with a 2-3-1 record.

The Demons will be returning from last weekend’s general bye looking to bounce back from a nine-goal loss to the Curtin Hamersley Comets last fortnight.
