Three young aspiring South West inventors will participate in a five-day National Questacon Invention Convention in Canberra next week.

Thomas Italiano, Samuel Shepherd and Jecinta Jaarola from Collie and Wokalup are among 22 young Australians from across the country selected to attend.

They will work alongside innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs to make stronger connections between science, technology, engineering and maths and career opportunities.

“I’m excited to be selected to attend the National Invention Convention,” Mr Shepherd said.

“This is an amazing opportunity to meet like-minded people and work with some of Australia’s leading innovators and entrepreneurs.”

The National Invention Convention runs from January 15 to 19 at The Ian Potter Foundation Technology Learning Centre in Canberra and will conclude with a showcase event attended by the delegates and invited guests.
