“It’s been more than three months since Powerball last offered $100 million to Australia lottery players – on that occasion, the entire prize was won by an Aspley woman,” Ms Hobdell said.

“Christmas is a time for dreaming big, and with $100 million on the line in Powerball, those dreams could become a reality this festive season and beyond.”

The $100m jackpot is the sixth-biggest in Australian lottery history, with entries closing at 7.30pm November 28.

There have been 16 division one Powerball wins this year, with an Adelaide man becoming the country’s biggest individual lottery winner when he took home $150m from a $200m jackpot.
