Following World Menopause Day earlier this month, New South Wales wellness travel destination Gaia Retreat & Spa has launched an offering specifically designed for menopausal women.

It’s called the Rebalance retreat and it has a program of holistic wellness treatments used to alleviate symptoms, such as lymphatic drainage and Ayurvedic massage, to “empower Australian women through life’s transitions”.

The Byron hinterland health resort, co-founded by Olivia Newton-John in 2005, will offer the menopause-tailored experience from January 3, 2025.

It isn’t cheap: the four-night stay will set travellers back between $4750 and $11,500 per person, depending on the choice of villa or suite and dates.

“World Menopause Day marks a moment in time to reflect on the importance of embracing healthy ageing and supporting women through all of life’s phases. While not every woman experiences menopausal symptoms, as a society we need to recognise this significant stage in life and rather than shy away from the transition, we use it as a chance to reset,” Gaia Retreat & Spa general manager Emily Griffin said.

“Our Rebalance package will allow women to listen to their body and heal in a way that feels nourishing and aligned to their personalised needs. From Ayurvedic massage or lymphatic drainage techniques to mindfulness, yoga, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, each therapy has been hand-picked by our expert team and tailored to helping guests reconnect and regain balance across the mind, body and nervous system.”
