Urgent recall on popular Silver Cross Reef prams over collapse fears
An urgent recall has been issued for a popular pram over collapse fears that could seriously injure babies and young children.
The product recall includes Silver Cross Reef all-terrain prams for babies and toddlers Earth, Neptune and Orbit models.
An Australian Competition and Consumer Commission spokesperson advised the locking mechanism on one side of the chassis of the pram might not engage correctly.
“If the locking mechanism is not engaged correctly the stability of the pram’s handle will be reduced,” the spokesperson said.
“If the locking mechanism disengages completely while in use, the pram may collapse.”
The prams were sold between July 1 2022 and October 31 2023 in stores across Australia and online.
The spokesperson said defects have occurred and there was a risk it could cause serious injuries to babies or young children if the pram collapsed while in use.
“Stop using the pram immediately and check the serial number to see if it is recalled,” the spokesperson said.
“Consumers should contact Premium Brands to arrange for a replacement of the chassis.”
