Are you ready to make a bald move?

A Busselton student is preparing to be brave and shave for the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave.

St Mary Mackillop College Year 7 student Piper Williams will shave her hair on March 12 to raise money for the charity.

Piper said she decided to do the shave as a way to support those going through a tough time.

"I thought because I know a lot of people who have struggles, I could do something for other people to help them," she said.

Piper's mum, Sally-Anne Williams, said her daughter had been asking to participate in the event for eight months.

"She kept on asking me and it was all her doing and planning," she said. Piper's aunt has battled cancer and both her grandfathers died from the disease, which influenced her decision.

She will have her hair shaved at Boulevard Hair Craft in Busselton, who are donating their services.

Piper's fundraising goal has been increased several times, after she initially started at $560 but now aims for $1500.

She has already raised $1300 in the month-and-a-half since starting to raise money.

"I really want to help people by doing this," she said.
