The South West Football League will begin its Landmark Carnival Championship defence against the Avon Football Association on Thursday, July 9.

The WA Country Football League released the carnival fixtures last week.

The SWFL has been champions for the past four A-grade championships, with coach Crandon Keddie once again leading the side to the title in 2014.

This year the South West will play Avon and Upper Great Southern at East Fremantle Oval on the Thursday.

Next day they will battle the Peel League and fellow 2014 grand finalists the Great Northern Football League at Steel Blue Oval.

If the SWFL again makes the grand final they will play at Medibank Stadium on the Sunday.
