Fun, food and fancy dress will be served up when Capel Golf Club hosts a charity day on Saturday.

More than 20 teams of four players are already confirmed for the event, which is open to members and visitors and will raise money for Melanoma WA.

Club captain and organiser Duncan Scott said the choice of charity was linked to the amount of time members spent in the sun playing the outdoor sport.

"It is the first charity event we have done here and we wanted to align with something relevant to our members," he said.

Melanoma WA chief executive officer and founder Clinton Heal will also address the players.

Mr Scott said there was space for about another 10 teams in the 18-hole ambrose event and encouraged people to register.

"It's going to be a fun day with a lot of prizes on offer," he said.

"We've opened the field to visitors and non-golfers and relaxed the rules for those without a handicap."
