Some of the region's best junior cricketers will get the chance to show their skills against not only the best from the nation, but internationally as well.

Dalyellup College will send a cricket team to Brisbane in December to compete at the Impact Challenge.

Competing in the C-Division, the college side will be one of 30 teams taking part in the seven-day tournament, with teams coming from across Australia and even other nations such as Malaysia.

Coach Mike Knuckey said he took a team two years ago with less experience and did really well.

"We expect to do pretty well," he said.

"We have a good blend of youth and experience."

With four games of 45-over cricket and two games of Twenty-20, the side will have to adjust quickly to different conditions and game styles.

Knuckey said the team would stick to the basics when preparing for the contest.

"At the moment the team is doing pre-season and a lot of fitness work," he said.

The college is sending over a team of 12 to compete at the challenge which will lead into their school team's season.
