The colour and action of the LiveLighter Bunbury Show brought smiles to the faces of thousands of people at Hay Park at the weekend.

The event featured games, rides, animals and mascots on Saturday with equestrian events on Sunday.

Show coordinator Rosina Mogg said the event was fantastic and she could not have asked for better weather on Saturday.

"People came out to play and there was a lot of action," she said.

"There were more than 18,000 on Saturday, which many more than last year and shows people enjoy the event.

"Some of the equestrian events were full and it was a great turnout with some people travelling from far away to participate."

Mrs Mogg said among the highlights was an expanded sideshow alley with more rides compared to last year's event.

"The fireworks proved a big hit and people came back at night to see them," she said.

"The Bunbury 10th Light Horse Troop display was great as were the mascots with people asking me where Olaf and the Minions were."
