Hockey Australia has begun preparations for the two international matches between the Hockeyroos and Great Britain at Bunbury Hockey Stadium later this month.

The games, to be played on Friday February 12 and Sunday February 14, are set to feature star Australian players such as Anna Flanagan, Georgie Parker and Madonna Blyth.

Officials from Hockey Australia were in town last week, setting up the stadium in preparation of the big games.

Workers put up 226m of signage and eight stands and began upgrades to facilities to support the event and the 4000-strong crowd expected to attend each contest.

The two games will be streamed around the world through the governing body, the International Hockey Federation. The event will also have marquees, goods vendors and Hockey Australia retailers, as well as improvements to the playing field to bring the surface up to international standard and ensure player safety.

Hockey Australia WA commercial partnership manager Shane Tonkin said numerous organisations had come together to ensure the game was taking place in Bunbury.

"The lead up to the event and ongoing communications between the Bunbury Hockey Association and Hockey Australia has been outstanding to date," he said.

"The committee set up by the BHA has ticked every box."

The six-game series starts in Bunbury before heading to Perth for the final four contests.
