Busselton are on a three-game winning streak, but face their biggest task in recent times when they take on the ladder leading Donnybrook.

Last year's wooden spooners have been a force to be reckoned with - last year's best and fairest Simon Parry leading a side which features the class of Curtin Guglielmana and the firepower of Jeff Smith.

But with Smith in doubt because of a groin injury the Magpies have a chance to head to VC Mitchell Park and take the four points.

Busselton coach Greg Hodson said this weekend's game was a huge challenge for his side.

"We have been playing some good footy," he said.

"It is just when the weather conditions get bad that we do not adjust well enough, hopefully we get better at that as this season goes."

Hodson highlighted the athleticism and running power of Parry as vital to the Dons chances, but admitted stopping the home side might come from the delivery the big man gets throughout the game.

Busselton's midfield has been more effective since their shock round five loss to South Bunbury, with the return of captain Dan McGinlay leading a brigade which is getting better every single week.

Hodson said he had been trying things to get his side to its best.

"We have been experimenting and it has been working quite well," he said.

"It has been very handy to get our captain back running around and getting some kicks.

"He is one of those blokes opposition coaches are going to look to tag every week."
