Male prisoner, 56, dies in Perth hospital after terminal illness
A 56-year-old male prisoner has died in hospital after a battle with a terminal illness.
The Aboriginal man died on palliative care at Bethesda Hospital on Thursday morning.
He had been transferred from Casuarina Prison to Fiona Stanley Hospital on November 8 before being relocated to Bethesda Hospital for palliative care on November 20.
As is mandatory for deaths in custody, WA Police will prepare a report for the State Coroner.
