Perth traffic: Early morning gridlock after crashes and truck fire on Kwinana Freeway and Tonkin Highway

Motorists are backed up for several kilometres after multiple collisions on a major Perth freeway this morning.

The left lane is blocked on Tonkin Highway southbound after Beeboro Road in Whiteman due to a truck fire.

Firefighters have put out the blaze, however are still working to clear the area. Main Roads WA warned traffic is heavy.

Drivers are almost at a standstill for several kilometres after a crash on Kwinana Freeway northbound at Anketell Road, The Spectacles.

The right lane is blocked and traffic is backed up to Mortimer Road.

Towing services are on site and motorists have been urged to approach with caution.

Anketell Road is also reduced to a single lane heading eastbound over Kwinana Freeway, Mandogalup after a crash.

Main Roads WA warned traffic is heavy on approach with motorists urged to drive with caution as people are out of their vehicles.

Drivers are urged to seek an alternate route as towing services work to move the cars.
