Roving entertainers are set to bring an extra sparkle to the WA Day festivities which have been rescheduled to next Sunday.

Nine entertainers will be scattered around Burswood Park on November 24, providing free interactive entertainment to guests all day.

“We’ve got everything from our flowers to our beautiful ‘winged welcome’ (rovers) so it’s a real variance of skilled and character-based entertainers,” Fliptease creative director Renee Wingfield said.

The entertainers will include colourful stilt walkers, roller-skaters and a winged rover which even makes a nod to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

“The ‘winged welcome’ is one of my favourites . . . if you’re a Swiftie you may have seen the giant wings on her, they’re just gorgeous,” Ms Wingfield said.

“The ‘red flower’ rovers are also a whimsical favourite, especially for young children . . . they’re just a bit enchanting like something out of a fairy tale.

“They have beautiful red petals and have this charming elegance, especially for young people to jump in and play around.”

The November celebration will replace the original WA Day festivities which were cancelled in June due to wet weather.

“I think WA Day is just an incredible showcase of the things that we have available in Western Australia and the quality of talent that we have,” Ms Wingfield said.

“We’re really lucky with the weather coming into this time of the year, so we’re expecting a beautiful, relaxed day out on that beautiful lawn.

“When it comes to roving entertainment the most important thing is that people have an opportunity to connect in a live moment.

“We’re designing entertainment and experiences that make a little bit of magic for people on a big day.”

The WA Day Festival is made possible thanks to support from the WA Government, Lotterywest and BHP and will be held in conjunction with The West Test between Australia and India at Optus Stadium on the same day.

Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the free public transport available to Burswood Park as part of fare free Sundays for all Smartrider holders.
