SW campus helps ECU's highest ranking
Edith Cowan University has received its highest ranking ever in a worldwide list of the best universities.
London-based magazine Times Higher Education, which has been published since 1971, releases an annual list of the world's best universities and placed ECU in the 501-600 band.
Vice-chancellor Steve Chapman believed focusing on opportunities in "teaching excellence and research capacity" across the campuses, including the South West, had been recognised.
"It's great that this approach has been recognised in the latest THE World University Rankings, putting us in the top 5 per cent of universities worldwide," he said.
"It's also very pleasing to see that ECU scored highly for our international outlook in the areas of co-authorship, international staff, and international students."
Times Higher Education also names a separate list of the world's best universities younger than 50 years old and ranked ECU at 90 in this category earlier this year.
