Twenty20 fever hits Bunbury this weekend when the Recreation Ground hosts two of the biggest WA Premier Cricket sides in a Statewide competition.

This year's Statewide T20 tournament finals comes to Bunbury on Sunday, with Willetton and Subiaco-Floreat taking on a combined Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association side, led by Hay Park skipper Jono Whitney, for a place in the semi-finals.

The BDCA campaign begins against Subiaco-Floreat at 9am, before the two Perth sides meet at 12pm and then the hosts take on Willetton at 3pm.

Whitney said he was excited to lead the BDCA side, which has a mix of exuberant youth and talented experienced players.

"It is a huge honour to captain the association," he said.

"We do have a few specialist batsmen and bowlers, but it is good to have so many all-rounders.

"For this form of the game, we try to get as many three-dimensional cricketers as possible."

Whitney said he was excited to play alongside Bunbury cricket legend Murray Goodwin, who will take on his old side, Subiaco-Floreat.

"It is good that Murray Goodwin has put his hand up to play," he said.

"His record speaks for itself. I have never played with Murray before, so I am looking forward to that."

Both Subiaco-Floreat and Willetton are expected to bring strong line-ups, but Perth Scorcher representatives Cameron Bancroft and Brad Hogg (Willetton) and David Willey (Subiaco-Floreat) are expected to play in the side's first Big Bash League match on Monday.

Subiaco-Floreat coach Dermot Reeve said his side would bring the best players available.

"Bunbury's Jacob Evans will come into the mix," he said.

"Alex Malcolm is also a good batsman for us. He has a lovely array of shots. Callum Howe is our keeper and he is a dangerous left hander."

Willetton captain Matthew Johnston, who played four first class games for the Western Warriors, said the Dragons would bring a strong squad of 15 players.

"We have a good bunch of young blokes playing aggressive, exciting cricket," he said.

"The boys are keen to get down to Bunbury and play some good cricket."

The winner from the group will progress to the semi-finals which will be held on January 24, before the final on February 7 at the WACA.
