Two men have been charged over an explosion at a Waroona bank yesterday.

A 34-year-old man from Medina and a 38-year-old man from Rockingham will appear in the Perth Magistrate’s Court today on a number of charges.

An explosion rocked Waroona at 3.40am which led to police effectively locking down the town with a 200m exclusion zone.

The blast damaged the Bendigo Bank branch’s ATM and office. Police allege the men were driving a stolen dark-coloured Holden Commodore utility which was found burnt-out in Coodanup.

Police also found $50 notes strewn along South Western Highway near Waroona yesterday.

Police are still seeking information from the public about the incident.
