Nannup was in full bloom at the weekend to celebrate its 19th annual Flower and Garden Festival.

People from around the South West gathered for a weekend of fun, florals and frolicking when the sun came out and the skies cleared for the four day celebration.

"It's great - this year we're blessed with perfect weather," Festival coordinator Natalie Taylor said.

"The tulips love it - they love the cold nights and it's a real science to get them up to this point and flowering at this time.

"That's always the challenge to bring it all together."

A senior's day on Thursday kicked off the celebrations and was followed by the festival's official opening - 'Tulips After Dark' - on Friday night.

Elements of this year's theme, 'Night in the Garden,' were sowed throughout the four day program and Ms Taylor said it was the first time the festival had embraced such a concept.

"It's all a little bit quirky," she said. "It's about the sights and the sounds that you'd hear in your garden at night."

The Town Hall was transformed into an enchanting scene, dimly lit with fairy lights and adorned with community garden instalments, while the sounds of Nannup's amphibian friends echoed in the background.

Ms Taylor said this year's festival had a jam-packed program - including workshops, open gardens, about 100 market stalls and special guests.

"When I'm walking around and I'm hearing people excited and they are looking at their program and working out where they are going next - that to me is the tick of success," she said.
