Withers revamp on council radar

Bunbury City Council will consider a plan to make major changes to Withers at its next meeting.

The council will consider adopting the Withers Local Plan which would be aimed at encouraging young professionals to move to the suburb and reduce public housing stock.

The plan is the culmination of years of work from a number of people including the Withers Action Group, according to Cr James Hayward.

He told councillors at Tuesday night's briefing that it was an exciting document that could change the suburb.

The Department of Housing supports the plan.
