A week of fun and teamwork "for youth, by youth" wrapped up in Bunbury on Saturday night with a live concert at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.

The first participants battled it out in the sand at a session of Beach Olympics on Friday at Koombana Bay.

Both events were part of the SHIFT 2016 - Presented by Drug Aware youth festival during National Youth Week last week.

Friday's Beach Olympics was more fun than competition, according to Bunbury Regional Art Galleries education officer Michele Grimston.

"We had a lot of creative team challenges - it was all about people working together," Ms Grimston said.

Tug-of-war, beach volleyball and soccer and paddle boating were among the day's events for the 16 competitors aged between 12 and 25.

"Everything was about teamwork and these kids work really well as a team," Ms Grimston said.

She said the festival had been a big success with youths from around the region getting involved.

"Just being able to showcase the amazing things young people do," Ms Grimston said.

"It really is something special."

Coordinated by Bunbury's Youth Advisory Council, the festival wrapped up at the High Fidelity Live concert on Saturday night.
