Looters are already raiding homes decimated in Los Angeles’ wildfires.

Authorities say three people have been arrested and issued a warning that the full weight of the law will come down on anybody who steals.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said looting was “100 per cent unacceptable”.

“If you do not belong in these areas, do not go there.

“These people have gone through so much, don’t put them through more than they have to go through.”

“If you are thinking about coming into any of these areas to steal from our residents, I’m going to tell you something: You’re going to be caught, you’re going to be arrested and you’re going to be prosecuted.”

LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger has called on people to avoid the areas affected by multiple fires.

“We have people who don’t live in the area that just want to come have a look,” she said at a press conference.

The identity of the two people arrested have not been released.

News of the looting has been greeted with outrage on social media, with one person on X posting “Insane that while firefighters fight the fires, the police are dealing with looters!”
