The Dockers are doubling down efforts to try and capture Hawthorn forward Tyler Brockman as the Hawks hold out hope of being in the mix for a Liam Henry move.

After initially giving up interest in Brockman following his nomination of the West Coast as his preferred destination, the possible departure of Lachie Schultz has caused the Dockers to reconsider.

They ramped up the pressure on Thursday reportedly offering a four-year deal to the small forward though Brockman and his manager remain adamant he will go to West Coast.

Should Lachie Schultz move to Collingwood following his trade request Brockman would be the ideal replacement with very few other ready-made small forwards on the market at this stage.

Brockman had a breakthrough year with the Hawks, kicking 13 goals from 15 games, after a shoulder reconstruction wiped out 2022 for the small forward.

The Hawks had been keen to hold on to Brockman to see if they could use him in a deal to try and secure pick No.1 from the Eagles, but with their draft hand sliding following North Melbourne’s compensation that is looking increasingly unlikely.

West Coast have also stated they are happy to pick up Brockman through the pre-season draft for free.

However with talks between St Kilda and Fremantle over Liam Henry currently stalled the Hawks could hope to use Brockman in a swap with Freo to get Henry.

St Kilda’s draft hand is currently unclear with Essendon trying to negotiate a deal over Jade Gresham leaving the door open for other offers.
