Silversea serves up destination feast Down Under

The imminent debut of Silversea’s most innovative class of luxury vessel Down Under includes a destination-inspired culinary program.

The inaugural season of Silver Nova in Asia-Pacific has just launched in Japan. Its season includes seven voyages scheduled in Australia and New Zealand ranging from 16 to 18 days starting on November 18 and finishing in late February. Silver Nova then returns to Asia until April 2025.

Nova’s debut season also marks the introduction of S.A.L.T. — Silversea’s collection of exclusive culinary experiences on board and ashore.

Silversea president Bert Hernandez says its signature S.A.L.T. program allows guests to travel deeper in countries like Japan, Vietnam and Australia with a rich heritage in diverse cuisines.

“S.A.L.T. is all about discovering the soul of a place through its food and culture,” he says.

A Silversea spokesperson says the stand-out food experiences ashore include:

+ Osaka, Japan — A culinary workshop with lunch with a Japanese master at a stunning zen retreat (March 22 and 28, 2025; April 11, 2025);

+ Hobart, Tasmania — Cooking masterclass with Analiese Gregory (December 6 and 7, 2024; January 10; February 2 and 3, 2025);

+ Napier, New Zealand — Haute Hawke’s Bay: an indulgent guided wine experience and lunch at award-winning family run winery Craggy Range (December 17, 2024; January 19, 25 and 26, 2025).

There are also other experiences exploring Asia’s diverse cultures including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and more.

Bert says: “Silver Nova will be the most luxurious ship sailing in Asia-Pacific until she leaves the region in April 2025, with her striking architectural innovations, advanced energy efficiency standards, and unprecedented range of suites and public venues.”

Silver Nova returns to Asia-Pacific in September 2025 including voyages in Asia before a 47-day circumnavigation of Australia, departing Melbourne.
