Collie has been named as one of the State’s seven finalists for the Tidy Towns award.

The town will be up against Albany, Greenbushes, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Miling, Newman and Port and South Hedland for the honour.

Judges will visit all of the towns within in the next six weeks.

Collie has also been named as a finalist in two other categories, environmental education plus litter prevention and waste management.

Keep Australia Beautiful WA chairman Michael Aspinall said the finalists were selected from 57 entries.

“They have all demonstrated strong community engagement, partnerships, innovation and educational initiatives, and evidence of planning,” he said.
