It's dry July in Bunbury

With just six days left in July, Bunbury is less than half-way to reaching its average rainfall for the month.

So far this month, the city's rain gauges have recorded 71mm, compared to the July average of 166.8mm.

Residents have shivered through colder than normal conditions with average daytime temperatures of 16.7 C and the mercury dropping overnight to an average of 5.9 C.

The average maximum and minimum temperatures for the month are 17.2 C and 7.1 C respectively.

The city recorded its coldest July maximum in 16 years on July 11 when the daytime temperature failed to rise above 12.6 C.

The coldest minimum was 1.5 C on July 18.

Isolated showers are expected to clear into the evening with an maximum of 18 C.

There is the risk of a storm on Wednesday with showers continuing into the weekend.

The Weather Bureau is also predicting a significant cold front to cross the region on Sunday.
