Travelling Piano on the move for summer
Bunbury City Council is looking to spread the sweet sounds of The Travelling Piano around the city's central business district during summer.
The project was started after the piano was donated to the council earlier this year with the idea that businesses would host it and allow pedestrians to play it.
Council arts and development officer Anna Edmundson said she was looking for more businesses to get involved.
"We had a number of businesses line up to look after the piano when we first launched the project but it became a bit quieter during the winter months and we put it in shopping centres," she said.
"There have been a number of businesses who have supported the initiative and it's been up and down the streets around the central business district but I think it's good and something different for the city."
Central News Bunbury owner Ian Cross said his business had hosted the piano a number of times and he even helped put new wheels on it.
"I think it's a great idea for the Bunbury central business district and it has created lots of interest," he said.
"Some very good musicians have played the piano with some people dancing to the music and we even had one person bring their guitar to play along."
Mr Cross said he encouraged other businesses to host the piano if they were able to do so because it was a great initiative.
