Two people arrested following an alleged assault that prompted a search of a Bunbury motel room are set to appear in court on Thursday.

Police confirmed a 34-year-old Bunbury woman and a 48-year-old Mandurah man were arrested and charged on Friday in relation to the incident.

The pair were both charged with aggravated home burglary with intent, assault occasioning bodily harm, and criminal damage or destruction of property.

Both the man and woman were refused bail and made a brief appearance in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday and are both due to make their next court appearance in Bunbury on Thursday.

It comes after multiple police vehicles attended the Admiral Motel about 10am and officers conducted a search of one of the guest rooms.

The search related to an alleged aggravated assault just hours earlier at a separate Bunbury address at 6:45am on Friday.

It was alleged one person in the home was assaulted, with witnesses reported to have seen three people leaving the scene of the attack. Police believe the victim and the alleged assailants are known to one another.
