Sneak peek at CinefestOZ Blinky film

A classic Australian cartoon character is making an appearance in Bunbury next month for CinefestOZ.

A special screening of Blinky Bill The Movie will be shown at Grand Cinemas Bunbury on August 30 ahead of its national cinema release in September.

The movie includes a host of well-known Australian actors in voice acting roles such as Ryan Kwanten, David Wenham, Toni Collette and Barry Humphries.

CinefestOZ chief executive officer Malinda Nixon said a relationship with the filmmakers and producer helped secure the screening.

"We showed Maya The Bee at last year's festival and the relationship helped us to get the very special screening of Blinky Bill The Movie," she said.

"It's great to get the movie shown in Bunbury because it has an amazing ensemble of Australian actors and it will be quite special."

Ms Nixon said she wanted the screening to be a family-friendly affair.

She said CinefestOZ would also hold a garden party in the foyer of Grand Cinemas Bunbury.

"We are an audience-focused festival and so that's the idea behind the garden party," she said.

"We want kids and parents to dress up as their favourite Australian animals and be a part of the atmosphere."
